Possible Causes
Worn contacts in oven function selector, broken switch shaft, loose wiring on selector, failed relay on control PCB (electronic models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before removing the control panel.
- Check timer mode: Ensure the oven is not in automatic timed mode as described earlier. Set to manual.
- Test fan and light: Select different functions (light only, fan only, grill). If none operate, suspect the selector or main relay.
- Inspect selector switch: Remove the control panel fascia to access the selector. Look for burnt contacts or broken plastic cams. Wiggle the shaft to check for play.
- Replace selector: Transfer wires one by one from the old switch to the new Belling-compatible selector to avoid miswiring. If the model uses PCB relays instead, the entire PCB may need replacement.
