Possible Causes
Failed fan oven element, failed grill element (if used for preheat), tripped thermal cut-out, loose live or neutral connection at terminal block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate the cooker at the mains. Elements can retain heat; ensure they are cool before handling.
- Check other functions: Test grill and top oven (if present). If none of the heating functions work, suspect a supply or safety thermostat issue rather than a single element.
- Inspect terminal block: Remove the rear cover and check the mains terminal block for signs of overheating or loose screws. Tighten and replace any burnt connectors.
- Test thermal cut-out: Locate the main oven safety thermostat. Test for continuity with a multimeter. If open and resettable, press the reset button. If non-resettable and open, replace it.
- Test elements: Disconnect the fan oven element terminals and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced with a Belling-compatible fan oven element.
