E1
Belling Pan Not Detected / Incompatible Cookware

Induction hob displays E1 and beeps, no heating on affected zone

Possible Causes

Non-magnetic pan, pan too small for zone, warped pan base, faulty pan detection circuit on induction module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: No internal work is required for basic checks; keep hands away from hot surfaces.

  • Check pan material: Use a pan with a magnetic base (cast iron or induction-compatible stainless steel). If a magnet does not stick to the base, the pan will not work.
  • Pan size and position: Ensure the pan base fully covers the marked cooking zone. Very small pans may not be detected. Center the pan on the zone.
  • Flat base: A heavily warped or rounded base can cause E1. Try a different, flat-bottomed pan.
  • Internal fault: If E1 appears with multiple known-good pans on the same zone, the pan detection circuit on that zone's power module may be faulty. Replacement of the module is required and should be done by a professional.
