Possible Causes
Incorrect mains voltage (too high or too low), loose neutral or live connection, miswired terminal block, defective mains filter board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Only a competent person should test live voltages. Always isolate power before tightening terminals.
- Verify supply: Use a multimeter to check the voltage at the hob connection point. It should match the rating plate (typically around 230 V AC). Large deviations can trigger E3.
- Inspect terminal block: With power off, remove the terminal cover and check that the links and wires are arranged exactly as shown in the Belling wiring diagram for your supply type. Tighten all screws.
- Check mains filter: Examine the mains filter/EMI board for burn marks or cracked components. Replace if damaged.
- Consult electrician: If the household supply is unstable or miswired, a qualified electrician must correct the installation.
