Possible Causes

Unsuitable cookware (non-magnetic), overheated induction coil, faulty pan detection sensor, defective induction power module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Induction hobs contain high-voltage capacitors. Always isolate from mains and wait several minutes for capacitors to discharge before removing the hob from the worktop.

  • Check cookware: Ensure you are using flat-bottomed, ferrous (magnetic) pans. Test with a magnet; it should stick firmly to the base. Avoid oversized pans that cover multiple zones unless the hob supports bridging.
  • Allow cooling: If F5 appears after prolonged high-power cooking, switch off the zone and allow the hob to cool for 15–20 minutes. Ensure ventilation slots under the hob are not blocked by drawers or stored items.
  • Clean glass surface: Wipe the zone area with a soft cloth to remove spills that may interfere with pan detection.
  • Inspect cooling fan and airflow (internal): Remove the hob from the worktop and take off the bottom cover. Check that the internal cooling fan runs when zones are active. Clean dust from the fan and air channels. Replace the fan if seized or noisy.
  • Module diagnosis: If a single zone always shows F5 with correct pans and good cooling, the corresponding induction power module or sensor circuit may be faulty. Replacement of the module should be done by an experienced technician due to live high-voltage circuitry.
