Possible Causes
Failed NTC sensor on induction coil, poor thermal contact between coil and sensor, blocked cooling fan, overheating IGBT on power board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains and wait for internal components to discharge before opening the hob.
- Ventilation check: Ensure there is at least the minimum clearance specified by Belling beneath the hob and that no items are stored directly under it blocking airflow.
- Inspect cooling fan: Access the underside of the hob and check that the fan spins freely. Clean dust and grease from blades and vents. Replace the fan if noisy or not running.
- Check NTC sensor: Each induction coil usually has a small temperature sensor attached. Verify that the sensor is firmly clipped to the coil and that its wires are intact. A loose sensor can cause false overheat readings.
- Module replacement: If the sensor is secure but F7 persists on the same zone, the NTC or the power module input may be faulty. On many Belling models the sensor is integrated with the module; replacing the entire module is the standard repair.
