Possible Causes
Corrupted control PCB firmware, incorrect configuration after power surge, failed touch control PCB, mis-matched replacement power module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power at the mains before any work.
- Power cycle: Isolate the hob for at least 10 minutes to allow the control electronics to fully discharge. Restore power and test again.
- Check installation: If a power module or control board was recently replaced, verify that the correct Belling part number was used and that all configuration jumpers or DIP switches (if present) are set according to the service manual.
- Inspect touch control PCB: Remove the glass top and check the user interface board for moisture, corrosion, or cracked tracks. Clean any light contamination with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Service mode reset: Some models allow a factory reset via a key sequence; consult the Belling service documentation. If unavailable, or if reset fails, the control PCB may need replacement.
