Clock / Timer Not Set or Control Lock
Oven display shows dashes or unresponsive clock, oven functions disabled

Possible Causes
Power interruption causing clock reset, timer set to auto mode, child lock on clock, faulty clock module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: No internal access required for basic checks.
- Set the time: After a power cut, many Belling ovens require the clock to be set before the oven will operate. Press the clock button and use '+' and '-' to set the correct time, then confirm.
- Cancel auto mode: If the oven symbol or 'AUTO' is lit, press the timer buttons in sequence (usually 'Cook Time' then 'End Time', then set both to zero) to return to manual mode.
- Child lock: Some clocks have a lock function. Press and hold the appropriate button combination (see manual) to unlock.
- Clock failure: If the display is dim, flickering, or unresponsive, the clock/timer PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
