Possible Causes
Insufficient ventilation under cooktop, Blocked cooling fan, Failed cooling fan motor, Faulty temperature sensor on heat sink
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all zones and disconnect power if accessing internal components.
- Allow cooling: Let the cooktop cool for at least 30 minutes, then try again at a lower power setting.
- Check ventilation space: Ensure the installation meets Bertazzoni's minimum clearance requirements under and around the cooktop. Remove stored items from the cabinet below.
- Inspect cooling fan: Access the underside of the cooktop and check that the cooling fan spins freely and is not obstructed by wiring or debris. Replace the fan if it does not run when the cooktop is in use.
- Service sensor/module: If E2 recurs quickly, the temperature sensor or power module may be faulty and should be tested and replaced by a technician.
Note: Persistent overheat errors can shorten the life of electronic components; address ventilation issues promptly.
