Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor on heat sink, Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty induction module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the underside of the cooktop.
- Locate sensor: Identify the temperature sensor attached to the heat sink of the affected induction module.
- Check connection: Ensure the sensor plug is firmly seated on the module and that wires are not pinched or broken.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance of the sensor at room temperature and compare to specification. Replace the sensor if open, shorted, or out of range.
- Replace module: If the sensor tests good but E5 persists, the module's sensor input circuit is likely faulty and the module should be replaced.
Warning: Always reattach the sensor securely to the heat sink to ensure accurate temperature monitoring.
