Electronic oven control beeps and displays F1, oven functions disabled or erratic temperature control

Safety first: Turn the range OFF at the control panel and disconnect power at the circuit breaker. Allow the oven to cool completely before working inside.

• Power reset: Turn the breaker off for 5 minutes, then restore power. If F1 returns immediately, continue below.
• Check oven sensor connection: Remove the rear panel (for freestanding ranges) or access the sensor from inside the oven (rear wall). Verify the sensor plug is fully seated in the harness and not corroded or burnt.
• Measure sensor resistance: With power still OFF, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical Bertazzoni NTC sensor should be around 1080–1100 Ω at 20–25°C (room temperature). If it is open, shorted, or far out of range, replace the oven temperature sensor.
• Inspect harness: Follow the sensor wires to the control board. Look for pinched, burnt, or broken insulation. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
• Control board check: If the sensor and wiring test good but F1 persists, the electronic oven control (EOC) is likely faulty and should be replaced. Label and photograph all connectors before swapping the board.

Warning: Do not operate the oven with a known faulty sensor or control board; inaccurate temperatures can be unsafe and may damage the appliance.
