Possible Causes

Failed oven cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty over-temperature thermostat on control compartment, Control board fan relay failure

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the appliance to cool completely.

  • Check ventilation: Ensure the range or built-in oven has proper clearance as specified in the Bertazzoni installation manual. Remove any obstructions from front and rear vents.
  • Inspect cooling fan: Remove the rear cover to access the cooling fan assembly. Spin the fan blade by hand; it should move freely without scraping. If seized or noisy, replace the cooling fan motor.
  • Test fan operation: With power restored and extreme caution, start a low-temperature bake and observe if the cooling fan starts after a few minutes. If it does not, test the fan motor for continuity and supply voltage when commanded on.
  • Check safety thermostat: Locate the high-limit thermostat on the top or rear of the oven cavity. Test for continuity at room temperature. If open and not resettable, replace it.
  • Control board: If fan and thermostat are good but F8 persists, the control board fan relay or temperature monitoring circuit may be faulty and the board should be replaced.

Warning: Never bypass the high-limit thermostat; it is a critical safety device.
