Pan Detection / Size Error on Induction Zone
Induction cooktop zone displays SP1 and will not heat or shuts off quickly
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Cookware too small for zone, Non-magnetic cookware, Warped pan bottom, Faulty induction coil sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooktop surface is cool before handling cookware.
- Check cookware compatibility: Use a pan with a flat, magnetic base (test with a magnet). If the magnet does not stick firmly, the pan is not suitable for induction.
- Match pan size to zone: Ensure the pan diameter meets the minimum size for the zone (typically at least 60–70% of the coil diameter). Try a larger pan on the same zone.
- Center the pan: Place the pan centrally over the marked cooking zone. Off-center placement can trigger SP1.
- Test other zones: Try the same pan on another induction zone. If it works elsewhere, the original zone may have a sensor or coil issue requiring service.
Note: Do not use pans with heavily warped or rounded bottoms; they reduce contact and can cause detection errors.
