Possible Causes
Incorrect burner cap placement, Dirty burner ports, Incorrect orifice for gas type (NG vs LPG), Insufficient primary air adjustment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the burner and allow it to cool before adjustments.
- Re-seat burner parts: Remove and correctly position the burner head and cap. Ensure they sit flat and stable.
- Clean ports: Use a soft brush to clean carbon or grease from the burner ports. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Check gas conversion: Confirm that the range has been converted correctly for your gas type (natural gas or LPG) using the proper Bertazzoni orifices. Incorrect orifices can cause yellow flames.
- Adjust air shutter: Many Bertazzoni burners have an adjustable air shutter near the orifice. With the burner lit and using caution, slightly open the shutter to increase air until the flame turns mostly blue with small yellow tips.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate room ventilation when adjusting flames.
Warning: Gas conversions and orifice changes should be performed by a qualified technician.
