Possible Causes
Grease buildup behind knob, Warped knob, Corroded gas valve stem, Misaligned bezel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off all burners and allow the area to cool. Shut off gas if removing valves.
- Remove knobs: Pull the knobs straight off the valve stems. Clean the back of the knobs and the surrounding panel with a mild degreaser.
- Inspect stems: Check valve stems for corrosion or debris. Do not use excessive force to turn them.
- Lubricate lightly: If permitted by the manufacturer, apply a small amount of high-temperature valve lubricant to the stem (avoid getting lubricant inside the gas passage).
- Replace knobs: If knobs are cracked or deformed, replace them with genuine Bertazzoni parts.
- Valve replacement: If stems remain stiff or seized, the gas valves may need replacement by a qualified technician.
Warning: Do not disassemble gas valves yourself; improper reassembly can cause leaks.
