Range emits strong gas smell when burners are off

Safety first: Immediately turn off all burner knobs and shut off the gas supply at the main valve. Do not use electrical switches or open flames. Ventilate the area.

• Do not operate: Do not use the range until the leak is located and repaired.
• Leak detection: A qualified technician should apply a soap-and-water solution to all accessible joints (regulator, manifold, hose connections) to identify bubbles indicating leaks.
• Tighten or replace: Tighten leaking fittings to the specified torque or replace defective components such as the regulator or flexible hose.
• Valve inspection: If a burner valve is leaking internally, replace the valve assembly.
