Possible Causes
Failed convection fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Faulty convection relay on EOC, Broken fan wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool.
- Check for obstruction: Remove oven racks and inspect the convection fan cover. Ensure no foil or debris is blocking the fan.
- Listen for operation: Start a convection bake cycle and listen for the fan. If silent, turn off power and proceed.
- Access fan motor: Remove the rear oven panel (inside the cavity or from the back of the range, depending on model) to access the fan motor. Spin the blade by hand; it should move freely.
- Test motor: Measure motor winding resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Replace with the correct BlueStar convection fan motor.
- Control and wiring: If the motor is good, check wiring and the EOC convection relay. Replace the EOC if it is not sending power to the fan.
