Possible Causes
Worn or damaged touch membrane, Moisture or grease under keypad, Loose ribbon cable connection, Faulty keypad circuit on EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Clean keypad surface: Wipe the control panel with a soft cloth and mild cleaner to remove grease that may interfere with button operation.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel bezel and check the keypad ribbon connection to the EOC. Reseat the cable and ensure it is fully inserted.
- Test all keys: After reassembly and restoring power, test each key. If specific keys still fail, the keypad membrane is likely defective.
- Replace keypad: Replace the BlueStar touchpad/keypad assembly. On some models, this may require replacing the entire control panel fascia.
