Possible Causes
Broken oven temperature sensor, Open sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at control board, Failed EOC sensor input circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing wiring or control components.
- Check sensor mounting: Inside the oven, locate the temperature sensor at the rear wall. Ensure it is firmly mounted and not physically broken or bent.
- Test sensor continuity: Remove the rear panel of the range to access the sensor connector. Disconnect it and measure resistance across the sensor leads. An open (OL) reading indicates a failed sensor that must be replaced.
- Inspect harness: If the sensor measures correctly, inspect the harness from the sensor to the EOC for cuts, burns, or loose pins. Repair any damaged sections and ensure connectors are fully seated.
- Control board check: If sensor and wiring are good but F3 persists, the EOC sensor input is likely defective. Replace the EOC.
- Reassemble and test: Reinstall panels, restore power, and run a bake cycle to confirm normal operation and that the error does not return.
