Possible Causes
Failed oven cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty fan relay on EOC, Open or shorted fan wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Internal metal edges can be sharp; wear cut‑resistant gloves.
- Check airflow: Ensure the range has proper clearance around the back and sides and that cooling vents are not blocked by cabinetry or items stored behind the range.
- Listen for fan operation: During a bake cycle (before the error appears), the cooling fan should run. If it is silent, suspect the fan motor or relay.
- Access fan motor: Remove the rear panel to access the cooling fan assembly. Spin the fan blade by hand; it should turn freely without grinding. If seized or noisy, replace the fan motor.
- Test fan voltage: With extreme caution and only if you are qualified, restore power and start a bake cycle. Measure voltage at the fan motor when the control calls for fan operation. If proper voltage is present but the fan does not run, replace the motor. If no voltage, suspect the EOC or wiring.
- Inspect wiring: With power off again, inspect the fan harness for burns or loose connectors. Repair as needed.
