Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor assembly, Broken or jammed latch mechanism, Faulty door lock switch, Open wiring between lock and EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Do not attempt to force the door open if the oven is hot.
- Allow cooling: If the error occurred during or after a high‑temperature cycle, allow the oven to cool fully; the lock may release once temperature drops.
- Inspect latch mechanism: Access the door lock assembly from the top or rear (depending on model). Check for bent linkage, broken plastic components, or obstructions.
- Check lock motor operation: With power restored briefly and great caution, start a self‑clean or lock test (if available) and listen for the lock motor. If it does not run, test for voltage at the motor when commanded. Replace the lock motor assembly if voltage is present but no movement.
- Test lock switch: Many lock assemblies include a position switch. With power off, test the switch for continuity in locked and unlocked positions. Replace the assembly if the switch is defective.
- Wiring and control: If the lock assembly tests good, inspect wiring to the EOC. If wiring is intact, the EOC lock circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
