Possible Causes
Blocked cooling air vents, Failed cooling fan, Overheated power module, Dust buildup restricting airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch off power at the breaker and allow the cooktop to cool completely before inspection.
- Check ventilation: Ensure there is adequate clearance under the cooktop per Bosch installation specs. Remove any stored items (pans, trays, towels) blocking the underside vents.
- Clean air paths: Vacuum dust and debris from the intake and exhaust vents under the cooktop. Do not spray liquids into the unit.
- Test fan operation: Restore power and run the cooktop at medium power for several minutes. Listen for the cooling fan. If you do not hear it or it is very noisy, the fan may be failing.
- Replace cooling fan: With power off, remove the cooktop, access the internal fan, and replace it if seized or noisy. If E015 persists with a good fan and clear vents, the power module temperature sensor or board is likely faulty and should be replaced.
