Possible Causes

Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD), Damaged sensor wiring, Faulty electronic oven control (EOC), Loose connector at control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the rear of the range or control panel.

  • Power reset: Turn off power for 5 minutes, then restore. If F1 returns immediately, proceed with sensor checks.
  • Check sensor resistance: Access the oven temperature sensor from inside the oven (rear wall) or from the back panel. Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature (typically ~1080 ohms at 21°C for many Bosch sensors). Replace if open, shorted, or out of spec.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor harness to the control board. Ensure connectors are tight and wires are not pinched or burned.
  • Replace control board: If the sensor and wiring are good, replace the electronic oven control (EOC).
