Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Misaligned burner cap, Cracked or fouled igniter electrode, Loose igniter wire at spark module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the burner and allow all parts to cool. Shut off gas if removing components.
- Check burner cap: Remove and reseat the burner cap so it sits flat and centered on the base.
- Clean ports: Use a soft brush or wooden toothpick to clear food or grease from the burner ports. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Inspect igniter: Verify the igniter electrode is not cracked and is positioned close to the burner edge. Clean carbon buildup with a soft brush.
- Check wiring: With power off, inspect the igniter wire from the electrode to the spark module. Reseat if loose. Replace the igniter electrode if it still does not spark.
