Electric radiant cooktop element will not heat, indicator light may be off

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before lifting the cooktop or accessing elements.

• Test other elements: If only one element fails, suspect that element or its control. If multiple fail, suspect a supply or control issue.
• Access element: On Café radiant cooktops, remove the glass top as per service instructions to access the radiant elements.
• Check continuity: Disconnect the suspect element and measure resistance across its terminals. An open reading indicates a failed element.
• Inspect connectors: Look for burned or loose spade connectors at the element and control switch.
• Replace parts: Replace the radiant surface element if open. If the element is good but not receiving power, replace the infinite switch or electronic burner control.
