Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents, failed cooling fan, thermal sensor fault on induction module, cookware too large or mispositioned causing overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the cooktop and allow it to cool. Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels.
- Clear airflow: Check under the cooktop or front of the range for dust, insulation, or stored items blocking the cooling vents. Café induction units require clear airflow.
- Check fan operation: Turn power back on and start an induction burner at medium power. Listen for the cooling fan. If the fan does not run, the fan motor or its wiring may be faulty.
- Cookware usage: Avoid using oversized pans that extend far beyond the marked zone, and do not cover multiple zones with one large pan, as this can cause localized overheating.
- Inspect internally: With power OFF, remove the cooktop from the counter or open the range top as per service instructions. Inspect the induction cooling fan and wiring. Spin the fan by hand; it should move freely.
- Replace parts: Replace a failed cooling fan. If the fan is good but F21 persists, the induction power module or its thermal sensor is likely defective.
