Possible Causes

Shorted glass touch keypad, moisture under touch panel, damaged ribbon cable, failed user interface board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel.

  • Clean and dry panel: Wipe the glass touch panel with a dry, lint-free cloth. If it was recently cleaned with liquid, allow several hours to dry fully.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the rear control panel cover. Check the flat ribbon cable from the touch panel to the UI or main control board for kinks, corrosion, or burns. Reseat the cable.
  • Test operation: Restore power and test each key. If F7 returns immediately or certain keys do not respond, the keypad is likely defective.
  • Replace UI assembly: On Café ranges, the glass touch panel and UI board are often a combined assembly. Replace the glass touch control panel / user interface board as a unit if keys remain stuck or F7 persists.
