Possible Causes
Failed spark module, no power to ignition module, shorted spark switch harness, moisture in ignition system
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and gas supply before accessing internal components.
- Check power: Verify the cooktop is receiving 120 V at its junction box or cord connection.
- Dry moisture: If the cooktop was recently cleaned, allow it to dry completely. Moisture around burner switches can cause faults.
- Inspect spark module: Access the underside of the cooktop. Locate the spark ignition module and check for burned spots or loose connectors.
- Check switch harness: Inspect the harness from the burner knobs (spark switches) to the module for shorts or damage.
- Replace module: If power is present and wiring is intact but no burners spark, replace the spark ignition module.
