Possible Causes
Oven still above safe temperature, door lock motor not completing cycle, failed door lock switch, control not receiving unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the door open. Allow the oven to cool fully.
- Allow cooling: After self-clean, it can take several hours for the lock to release. Wait until the oven is completely cool.
- Power reset: Turn the breaker OFF for 1 minute, then back ON. Sometimes the control will reattempt to unlock.
- Manual release: If still locked, disconnect power, remove the rear panel, and locate the door lock motor assembly. Use the manual release lever (if present) or gently move the lock arm to unlock the door.
- Test lock assembly: Check the lock motor and switches for continuity. Replace the door lock motor assembly if it fails tests.
