Possible Causes
Open bake element, burned wire to bake element, failed bake relay on control board, loose connector at element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the oven rear or element wiring.
- Visual inspection: Look at the bake element inside the oven for blisters, breaks, or burn marks.
- Test continuity: Disconnect one wire from the bake element and measure resistance. An open reading indicates a failed element.
- Check wiring: Pull the range out and remove the rear panel. Inspect the wires to the bake element for burns or loose terminals.
- Replace element: Replace the bake element if it is open or damaged. If the element and wiring are good, the electronic range control bake relay may be defective.
