Possible Causes
Open broil element, burned wire to broil element, failed broil relay on control board, loose connector at element
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing.
- Inspect broil element: Look at the broil element at the top of the oven for visible damage.
- Test continuity: Disconnect one wire and measure resistance across the broil element. An open reading means it is bad.
- Check wiring: Access the rear of the range and inspect the broil element wiring for burns or loose connections.
- Replace element: Replace the broil element if open. If the element is good but not powered, the electronic range control broil relay may need replacement.
