Possible Causes
No power to cooktop (tripped breaker), Failed spark module, Disconnected power harness to spark module, Faulty ignition switch harness on burner valves
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure all burner knobs are OFF. Do not attempt to light burners manually until ignition is repaired.
- Check power: Verify the circuit breaker for the range/cooktop is ON. Test a nearby outlet to confirm power in the area.
- Listen for any spark: Turn each knob to the ignite position. If there is no clicking from any burner, the spark module may not be receiving power.
- Access spark module: Remove the cooktop from the counter or lift the top (model dependent) to access the spark module. Check that the power connector is firmly attached.
- Inspect ignition switches: The small switches on each burner valve send power to the spark module. Check the switch harness for disconnections or damage.
- Replace spark module: If power and switches are good but no burners click, replace the spark module.
