Possible Causes
Worn or damaged membrane keypad, Moisture intrusion behind control panel, Loose ribbon cable to ERC, Failed user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Dry and clean: If the issue started after cleaning, allow the panel to dry for several hours. Wipe the surface with a dry cloth.
- Reseat ribbon cable: Remove the control panel and reseat the keypad ribbon cable at the ERC.
- Test specific keys: Note which keys fail. If entire sections of the keypad are dead, the membrane is likely failing and the control panel assembly should be replaced.
- UI board: On models with a separate UI board, replace the UI if the membrane is integrated and non-serviceable.
