Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM on ERC, Incorrect or failed configuration data, Power surge damage to control board memory
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker before handling the control board.
- Power reset: Leave the unit powered OFF for at least 10 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes a full reset clears transient memory errors.
- Check model configuration: Some Dacor controls require model-specific configuration after replacement. If F12 appeared after a board change, verify that the correct configuration procedure was followed (see service manual).
- Replace ERC: If F12 persists, the ERC memory is likely corrupted. Replace the ERC with the exact Dacor part number for your model.
Configuration errors can cause unsafe operation; do not bypass or ignore F12.
