Dacor oven shows F2 during or after a bake cycle; oven may overheat or shut down

Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely before inspection. Over-temperature faults can indicate a fire risk.

• Visual check: Inspect the oven cavity for foil covering racks, blocked vents, or oversized cookware that may trap heat. Remove obstructions and avoid covering vents in future use.
• Check temperature sensor: With power OFF, access the oven temperature sensor at the back wall of the cavity. Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature (about 1080–1100 Ω). If out of spec, replace the sensor.
• Inspect element relays: With the rear panel removed, visually inspect the ERC and relay board (if separate) for burned or welded relay contacts. If a relay is stuck closed, the element may stay on even when off. Replace the ERC or relay board.
• Check heating elements: Inspect bake and broil elements for shorts to chassis (burn marks, arcing). Test with a meter for continuity to ground. Replace any element that is shorted or deformed.
• Test operation: After replacing faulty parts, run the oven at 350°F and monitor temperature with an oven thermometer. If F2 does not return and temperature is stable, the repair is successful.
