Possible Causes

Failed door lock motor assembly, Faulty door lock position switch, Jammed lock mechanism from grease or misalignment, Broken wiring between lock assembly and ERC

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the door lock mechanism. Sharp metal edges are present around the oven frame.

  • Check door movement: Open and close the oven door fully. Listen for any grinding or binding near the latch area. Ensure the door closes squarely against the frame.
  • Access lock assembly: Remove the top panel or rear panel (model dependent) to access the door lock motor and switch assembly located near the top of the oven cavity.
  • Inspect linkage: Look for bent rods, heavy grease buildup, or obstructions preventing the lock from moving. Clean and lubricate lightly with high-temperature-safe lubricant if necessary.
  • Test lock motor: With power OFF, disconnect the lock motor and measure coil resistance (compare to service manual spec). An open coil indicates a bad motor. Replace the door lock assembly.
  • Check lock switch: Use a multimeter to verify the lock position switch opens and closes as the lock moves. Replace if intermittent or stuck.
  • Wiring and ERC: Inspect wiring from lock assembly to ERC for breaks or burns. If all hardware tests good, the ERC lock driver circuit may be faulty and require replacement.

Do not attempt self-clean until the F5 fault is resolved, as the door may fail to unlock.
