Possible Causes
Failed broil igniter, Faulty broil gas valve coil, Loose or damaged broil igniter wiring, Low gas pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power and gas before servicing. If you smell gas, evacuate and contact your gas supplier.
- Inspect broil igniter: Access the broil burner (usually at the top of the oven cavity). Check the igniter for cracks or damage.
- Test igniter: Similar to bake, measure current draw or resistance. Replace the igniter if it does not glow or is out of spec.
- Check gas valve: If the igniter glows but no flame appears, the broil section of the gas valve may be faulty. Replace the oven gas valve assembly.
- Verify wiring: Inspect and secure all connections between the broil igniter, gas valve, and control board.
