Possible Causes
Cracked or contaminated spark electrode, Shorted electrode to burner cap, Damaged ignition wire to specific burner, Faulty output on spark module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power and gas before touching burner components.
- Clean and dry: Remove burner caps and clean the area around each igniter with a soft brush. Ensure caps are dry and properly seated.
- Inspect electrodes: Look for cracks in the ceramic insulator or heavy carbon buildup. Replace any damaged electrodes.
- Check ignition wires: Access under the cooktop and inspect the ignition wires from the spark module to each electrode. Replace any burned or broken wires.
- Swap outputs (advanced): Temporarily swap two igniter leads at the spark module. If the problem moves to a different burner, the module output is faulty and the module should be replaced.
