Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF the breaker and verify power is removed with a non-contact tester before accessing internal components. High voltage is present on the relay board.
- Access relay board: Remove the rear panel or lower front panel (model dependent) to locate the relay board that switches power to the heating elements.
- Visual inspection: Look for burned areas, cracked solder joints, or melted relay housings. Any visible damage indicates the board should be replaced.
- Check element continuity: Before replacing the board, test the bake and broil elements for shorts or opens. A shorted element can damage relays.
- Replace relay board: Label and disconnect all wires from the old board, transfer them to the new board one at a time, and secure the board in place.
- Test operation: Restore power and run a bake cycle. Confirm that the oven heats and that F8 does not return.
If the relay board appears normal but F8 persists, the ERC may not be driving the relays correctly and may need replacement.
