Possible Causes
Overheated or jammed door lock motor, Warped door or latch from high heat, Failed lock position switch, Control not receiving unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Allow the oven to cool completely (several hours) before attempting to unlock. Do not force the door open.
- Power reset: Turn OFF the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes the control will reattempt unlocking on power-up.
- Try another cycle: Start a short self-clean or lock cycle, then cancel it after a minute to prompt the lock to move.
- Manual release (if provided): Some Dacor models have a manual lock release accessible from the top or rear. Consult the service manual and use a tool to gently move the release lever.
- Inspect lock assembly: If the door remains locked, access the lock motor and linkage from the top or rear, check for binding, and replace the lock assembly if the motor has failed.
