• Check vents: Identify the oven vent outlet (often near the back of the cooktop). Do not block it with pans or covers.
• Inspect door gasket: Check the oven door seal for gaps that could direct hot air toward the control panel. Replace the gasket if worn.
• Internal inspection (advanced): If heat is extreme, disconnect power, remove the range from the wall, and inspect for missing or displaced insulation or heat shields around the oven cavity. Reinstall or replace as needed.
