Possible Causes
Incompatible cookware on induction zone, Pan too small or not centered, Overheated element sensor, Faulty pan detection circuit on power board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the cooktop before changing cookware. Surfaces may be hot.
- Check cookware: For Danby induction cooktops, ensure you are using ferromagnetic cookware (a magnet should stick firmly to the bottom). Use a flat-bottom pan that covers most of the cooking zone.
- Center the pan: Place the pan in the center of the marked zone. E1 can appear if the pan is off-center or too small.
- Cool down: If the zone has been used at high power for a long time, allow it to cool for 10–15 minutes and try again. Overheat protection may have triggered.
- Inspect sensor and wiring (advanced): Disconnect power, remove the cooktop glass, and inspect the temperature sensor and wiring on the affected zone. Replace the sensor or power board if damaged or if E1 persists with proper cookware.
