Possible Causes
Overheated induction or radiant element, Blocked cooling vents or fan failure, Faulty temperature sensor on glass, Poor airflow under cooktop
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the cooktop and allow all zones to cool completely before inspection.
- Allow cooling: Leave the cooktop off for 20–30 minutes. Ensure no hot pans are left on the surface. Try again once cooled.
- Check ventilation: Verify that the ventilation openings under and around the Danby cooktop are not blocked by cabinetry, insulation, or stored items. Maintain the clearances specified in the installation manual.
- Inspect cooling fan: On models with internal fans, listen for fan operation when zones are on. If the fan does not run, disconnect power, remove the cooktop, and test/replace the cooling fan.
- Sensor and board check: If E2 appears quickly even from cold, the temperature sensor or power board may be faulty. Replace the sensor strip or power module for the affected zone.
