Possible Causes

Shorted induction coil, Failed IGBT transistor on power board, Loose coil mounting causing poor sensing, Internal power board fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. High voltages are present inside induction cooktops; if you are not experienced, contact a qualified technician.

  • Basic reset: After disconnecting power for 10 minutes, restore and test. If E3 returns immediately on the same zone, internal hardware is likely damaged.
  • Inspect coil and wiring: Remove the cooktop glass and inspect the induction coil for burns, cracks, or detached windings. Check the wiring from the coil to the power board for discoloration or loose connectors.
  • Check mounting: Ensure the coil is firmly mounted to the underside of the glass with the correct gap. Loose mounting can cause sensing errors and overheating.
  • Replace power module: If the coil appears intact but E3 persists, the power board (with IGBT) for that zone is likely defective and should be replaced as an assembly.
