Possible Causes

Failed NTC sensor on glass surface, Broken sensor harness, Sensor detached from glass, Faulty main control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing the cooktop from the counter.

  • Cool the unit: Allow the cooktop to cool fully and retry. If E4 appears immediately from cold, suspect a sensor fault.
  • Access sensors: Remove the cooktop from the countertop and take off the bottom cover. Locate the small NTC sensors attached to the underside of the glass near each zone.
  • Inspect and test: Ensure each sensor is firmly attached to the glass and the wires are not broken. Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to service specs. Replace any sensor with open/shorted readings.
  • Board input check: If all sensors test good, the main control board may not be reading them correctly and will need replacement.
