Possible Causes
Loose communication harness, Faulty user interface board, Faulty power board, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing any panels.
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5–10 minutes, then restore power. If E6 clears temporarily but returns, suspect an intermittent connection.
- Inspect harness: Remove the cooktop from the counter and access the internal boards. Locate the low-voltage harness between the UI board and power board. Reseat both ends and check for pin damage.
- Check for corrosion or moisture: Ensure no moisture has entered the control area. Dry thoroughly if needed.
- Board substitution: If wiring is intact, one of the boards is defective. Replace the user interface board first, then the power board if E6 persists.
