Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad membrane, Moisture or cleaning fluid inside keypad, Damaged keypad ribbon cable, Control panel physical damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the range or switch off the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Dry out keypad: If the issue started after heavy cleaning, leave power disconnected and allow the control panel to dry for 24 hours. Avoid spraying cleaners directly on the keypad; spray cloth instead.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the rear control panel cover. Locate the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board. Reseat the connector and ensure no kinks or cracks are present.
- Test keypad: With the keypad disconnected, restore power briefly. If F7 disappears and the beeping stops, the keypad is defective and must be replaced.
- Replace control panel/touchpad: Order the correct Danby touchpad or complete control panel assembly. Transfer any brackets or bezels from the old panel to the new one.
