Possible Causes
Clogged burner ports, Misaligned burner cap, Dirty or wet igniter electrode, Cracked spark electrode or damaged wire
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the burner and allow it to cool. Do not use sharp metal objects that could damage parts.
- Check cap alignment: Remove the burner grate and ensure the burner cap is properly seated on the base. Misalignment can prevent ignition.
- Clean burner ports: Use a soft brush or wooden toothpick to clear debris from the small gas ports around the burner head. Do not enlarge the holes.
- Dry and clean igniter: Wipe the igniter electrode with a clean, dry cloth. If it is wet from spills, allow it to dry completely.
- Inspect electrode and wire: Look for cracks in the ceramic insulator or damaged ignition wire. Replace the electrode assembly if damaged.
