Possible Causes
Open bake element, Open broil element, Tripped house breaker on one leg of 240 V supply, Failed oven relay on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before testing elements or removing panels.
- Check breaker: Verify the double-pole breaker for the range is fully ON. Reset if tripped. A partially tripped breaker can supply 120 V (lights work) but no 240 V for heating.
- Inspect elements: Look at the bake and broil elements for visible breaks, blisters, or burn marks. Replace any damaged element.
- Test continuity: Disconnect the element terminals (from rear or inside) and measure resistance. A typical element reads 15–40 Ω. An open circuit means the element is bad.
- Control board: If both elements test good and 240 V supply is present, the EOC may not be sending power to the elements. Replace the control board after verifying wiring and relays.
