Possible Causes
Disconnected NTC sensor on heat sink, Broken sensor wiring, Failed NTC sensor, Faulty sensor input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect from mains before accessing the underside.
- Locate NTC sensor: On the underside, find the small sensor clipped to the heat sink or power module, usually with two thin wires.
- Check connection: Ensure the sensor plug is fully seated on the control or power board. Reseat if loose.
- Inspect wiring: Look for cuts, burns, or pinched sections in the sensor wires.
- Test sensor: With a multimeter, measure resistance at room temperature and compare with De Dietrich specifications (commonly 50–100 kΩ at 25°C, but check service data). An open circuit indicates a failed sensor.
Repair: Replace the NTC sensor if defective. If the sensor is good but E1 remains, the control board input may be faulty.
